Teen Advisors and Velocity are student-led programs that help youth grow in character, faith, and leadership while having fun and creating positive ripple effects across their schools and communities.
Student-Led Peer Teaching
Upper classmates enter younger students’ classrooms to discuss real-life topics like peer pressure, stress, healthy relationships, substance use, and family dynamics. They share personal experiences and encourage their classmates to make empowered, positive choices.
Values and Commitment
Every participant signs a commitment to live with integrity—choosing to remain substance-free and abstinent during the program. This shared value strengthens the community and sets a standard for wellbeing.
Building Friendships and Confidence
These programs meet in-person through weekly discussions and monthly events designed for connection, support, and fun. Through energetic retreats, social outings, and mentorship, students enjoy authentic friendships and gain tools for navigating adolescence grounded in Christian values.
Two Programs, One Purpose
- Teen Advisors focuses on high school students, equipping them to mentor peers, lead community initiatives, and serve with compassion.
- Velocity, created for middle schoolers in 7th and 8th grades, delivers age-appropriate character and leadership development in a lively, supportive environment.
Yes, Teen Advisors is a Christ-centered organization, and our programs are built on Christian values such as love, integrity, compassion, and service. While our leadership and mission are rooted in faith, we welcome students from all backgrounds, including those of other faiths or no faith at all. Participation in specifically Christian activities, such as prayer or devotional content, is always optional.
All students must attend a training event to participate (VDay for Velocity, or Fall Retreat/Mid-Fall Workshop for Teen Advisors). These events help students understand the commitment and build connections with others in the program.
Multiple training dates are offered each year. Visit the program’s page for current options. If none of the available dates work for your family, please contact our office to speak with the appropriate program director. We’ll do our best to find a solution.
Your registration fee is more than just a payment—it’s an investment in a full year of personal growth, leadership development, and unforgettable experiences. This one-time activities fee covers your student’s training event, program t-shirt, weekly gatherings, classroom supplies, and a wide variety of fun events, workshops, and community-building activities throughout the year.
There are no hidden costs or required add-ons. And while many school clubs, sports teams, and extracurriculars charge far more for far less, we work hard to keep our fee as low as possible. In fact, what you pay doesn’t fully cover what it actually costs us per student. Thanks to generous donors and community partners, your family receives a high-quality experience at a fraction of the true cost.
For 12 months of consistent programming, mentoring, and leadership opportunities, we believe this is one of the best values you’ll find—and your student is worth every bit of it.
In order to register online, you'll have to make a payment. If you would like to pay by check or cash, you can mail your registration form and payment to Teen Advisors at PO Box 5305, Columbus, GA 31906 or bring it to our office at 1316 Wildwood Ave.
- You can apply for a scholarship by filling out the form HERE. Once your application is reviewed, we’ll send you a discount code to use when registering your student online.
- Scholarships are awarded based on financial need. We ask all families to contribute at least 50% of the registration fee unless extreme circumstances prevent that.
- Scholarship recipients are expected to follow the same payment deadlines as all other participants.
- If you are applying as a Grad Staff (GS), you can use the same scholarship form. Where it asks for your grade, simply write “Grad Staff.”
Yes. A new registration form is required each year your student joins one of our programs. This helps us keep records up to date and ensures we have the most accurate information for communication, safety, and program planning.
