NOW HIRING! -- 6 Field Staff Internships -- posted: 05/23/08 --
Teen Advisors is announcing the creation of six brand-new Field Staff Internship positions for the 08/09 school year! To qualify, you must be 18 or older, a high school graduate, willing to sign a one-year contract promising to be a drug-free, sexually pure role model for teenagers, and able to provide character, leadership, & faith development in middle or high school students involved in Velocity & TAs.
Field Staff Internship Job Description: This 9-month internship -- in the sectors of youth ministry, teen counseling, and non-profit leadership -- will last from August 4, 2008 to May 22, 2009. It will require approximately 5-6 hours per week, or about 20-25 hours per month. Field Staff Interns will have three clear responsibilities:
(1)School Assignment -- as a Field Staff member, you will be assigned one specific school, for which you will be responsible for assisting that school's Adult Team Leader, training the students at that school for their Classroom Sessions, and assisting with event publicity & recruitment at that school.
(2)Staff Meetings / Event Planning -- as a Field Staff Intern, you would have all of the privileges, authority, & responsibilities as a regular staff member, including a weekly staff meeting to plan, lead, & execute Big Events, school-based events, training sessions, & TNBS.
(3)Weekly Ministry Contacts -- you will be asked to make 3 Ministry Contacts per week with students of your same gender. These could include: TNBS; Big Events; CRS Trainings; writing & sending notes & cards to students; attending their school plays, concerts, & sporting events; hosting a Growth Group; connecting with students via phone calls or facebook; etc.

Application Deadline -- July 18, 2008 -- If you are seriously considering serving TAs / Velocity in this capacity during the 08/09 school year, please complete and submit a TA Employment Application by Friday, July 18. We will hold interviews in the weeks shortly following, and announce our selections by the end of July. The internships will then begin on Monday, August 4, 2008!
